Edgar Allen Poe Stain on Radiator

This is a small stain that I discovered on a natural gas radiator that really, really resembles an old daguerreotype photo of Edgar Allen Poe!
Simply a smudge or a smear? Or perhaps another mustached person from the 19th century?
