Where the name Aunt Spray came from.....
Our company name is derived from the book La Cart: The Secret Lives of Grocery Shoppers (by Hillary Carlip, Barbara Green), where it is mentioned that a person actually wrote and misspelled this (common pesticide) item on their grocery list. The premise of the book is that the author scours empty shopping carts etc. for remnants of modern anthropological scribe. It was a perfect name for our punk rock DIY approach to design.

We Have Been around For a While
With 20 years of graphics experience within the architectural, science and engineering disciplines, company creator William Roberts sees the internet as the new medium from which artists will create on, as they have in the past with canvas, paints, clay and metal. One could compare the graphics, illustrations and websites that we commonly view today to the Sistine Chapel, primitive cave art and Greco-Roman bronze sculptures. They are all visual artwork or expressions of humanity in their time of existence. If this seems like a stretch, consider the web's content. Text and images composed in a thoughtful aesthetic construct are meant to convey information and ideas or just look pleasing to the viewer. This was the launching point for Aunt Spray in 2009. Having a designer that is looking forward in design trends is an important consideration when seeking out a visual creator for your marketing campaign. Aunt Spray strives to meet those marks and hopes to be at the forefront of the 21st century's new design styles. |
